Yia Vang is the founding chef of Union Hmong Kitchen in Minneapolis and is currently in the midst of launching his new brick and mortar, Vinai. In 2019, Yia was named Chef of the Year by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine and is a finalist for Outstanding Chef for the upcoming Charlie's Awards as well. He also just released Season Two of Relish, which is distributed by PBS. He has been featured on CNN's United Shades of America, and a bunch of other places. Just two days ago, I was cooking with Yia for his upcoming feature in Bon Appétit magazine's May issue on springtime grilling.
